Welcome to Our "Transportation & Summer School Fun!" Month!
Get ready for an extra-special July! We’ll begin the month with our “Terrific Transportation Time” theme, where your toddler will explore the exciting world of vehicles. Then, we’ll shift gears into our “Summer School Adventures,” a special program packed with unique daily themes including mad science, cultural exploration, and imaginative journeys. It’s going to be a month full of learning, creativity, and summer fun!
Here’s a look at what your toddler will be experiencing:
Week 1: July 1st - July 4th (Focus: Introduction to Land Vehicles)
- Exploring Land Vehicles: Your toddler will explore the concept of land travel through hands-on play with different types of toy vehicles.
- Creative Expression & Fine Motor Skills: We will strengthen fine motor skills and encourage creativity through vehicle-themed art projects.
- Learning About Community Vehicles: We will begin learning about our community by exploring the roles of important vehicles like fire trucks and ambulances through pictures and sounds.
Week 2: July 7th - July 11th (Focus: Air Transportation)
- Exploring Air Vehicles: Your toddler will be introduced to things that fly through imaginative play with toy airplanes and helicopters.
- Art & Imagination: We will engage in art activities that encourage your toddler to imagine and represent things that travel in the sky.
- Developing Concepts of Movement: We will explore different types of movement, from floating like a balloon to blasting off like a rocket, through dramatic play.
Week 3: July 14th - July 18th (Focus: Water Transportation)
- Scientific Discovery – Sink & Float: Through water table play, your toddler will explore the basic scientific concepts of sinking and floating.
- Music & Coordinated Movement: We will develop rhythm and coordination by singing songs and performing movements related to water travel.
- Exploring Underwater Concepts: We will use toys and imaginative play to introduce the idea of underwater exploration and vehicles that travel beneath the sea.
Week 4: July 22nd - July 25th (Focus: Summer School - Welcome & Science Fun)
(Note: Monday, July 21st is Marine Day – No School)
- Developing Self-Identity: Your toddler will explore their individuality and personal favorites through creative art projects focused on self-expression.
- Fostering Creativity through Nature: We will be inspired by the natural world, using various art materials to create beautiful, multi-textured floral designs.
- Exploring Simple Cause & Effect: Your toddler will experience the magic of science through a safe, teacher-led sensory activity that demonstrates cause and effect.
- Developing Fine Motor Skills & Cultural Awareness: We’ll end the week strengthening fine motor control and learning about other cultures through simple paper-folding art.
Week 5: July 28th - July 31st (Focus: Summer School - Adventure Week)
- Encouraging Global Awareness through Play: Your toddler will develop a sense of the wider world through imaginative play centered on travel and different cultures.
- Sparking Curiosity about Space: We will blast off on an imaginary voyage through the solar system, encouraging an interest in space through art and sensory activities.
- Real-World Learning through Play: Your toddler will explore different real-world jobs and roles through fun and engaging dramatic play.
- Investigating Ocean Science & Marine Life: We will end the month with an imaginary deep-sea expedition, using sensory play to spark curiosity about what lies under the ocean.
