Reading/Writing

Throughout all themes, we immerse children in a language-rich environment. We foster a love of reading through engaging story times and access to diverse books. We develop pre-reading skills through recognizing letters, exploring sounds, and understanding print concepts. We encourage early writing through drawing, scribbling, and forming letters, connecting literacy naturally to their play and exploration.



Math/Science

We integrate math and science naturally into daily activities. Children explore concepts like counting, sorting, shapes, and patterns through hands-on play. We encourage scientific thinking by fostering observation, experimentation, and questioning during explorations of the natural world, weather, and building challenges.



Art

We encourage artistic expression daily through a variety of creative activities. Children explore different materials like paint, clay, collage items, and drawing tools. We focus on the creative process, allowing children to experiment and express their ideas visually in response to themes, stories, and music.



Critical Thinking

We encourage children to think critically and solve problems throughout their day. Activities prompt them to ask questions, make predictions, compare ideas, and sequence events. Through building challenges, science explorations, and analyzing stories, children develop foundational reasoning and decision-making skills.

The Full Year Learning Plan: Exploring Monthly Themes

We are so excited to begin a wonderful year of exploration and growth with your toddler! We thoughtfully designed our “Full Year Learning Plan” to nurture their natural curiosity and encourage learning through play, all centered around engaging monthly themes perfect for our littlest learners.

Throughout this year, your toddler will have many opportunities to:

Explore the World Through Their Senses: We will gently guide them to discover the wonders of nature, the changing seasons, and exciting things like friendly animals and different ways to move by feeling different textures, seeing bright colors, and hearing new sounds!
Discover “Me!”: We’ll have fun helping them learn about their amazing bodies – pointing to our noses, wiggling our toes! – recognize their own names, and begin to understand simple feelings like happy and sad through stories and expressions.
Play, Move, and Create: Your toddler will explore with their hands, enjoy simple songs and fingerplays, move their bodies to music, and begin to express themselves through playful activities with blocks, soft materials, and art tools.
Learn About Togetherness: We’ll help them practice being with friends, share gentle moments with our teachers, and learn how to be part of our small classroom family.
Grow Important First Skills: Through all our fun, we’ll help your toddler develop their listening skills, learn new words, practice moving their bodies in new ways, and take their first steps in playing alongside others.

Each month will bring a new and exciting theme, allowing us to explore different ideas in ways that are just right for toddlers. You will find more details about each month’s special focus and the playful activities we have planned on dedicated pages.

Our teachers aim to create a warm, safe, and joyful place where your toddler feels happy to explore, learn, and grow every day. We believe that learning at this age is all about discovery and partnership, and we look forward to sharing this exciting journey with you and your little one.
